We Produce & Install Premium Replacement Windows in Toronto
When it comes to manufacturing materials, energy efficiency, and additional features, Magic delivers some of the best replacement windows and doors on the market. Here are just some of the innovations that allow our windows to deliver on style, performance and efficiency year after year, season after season.
Hybrid Fusion Frame Design
As opposed to inefficient materials like standalone aluminum and expensive, unreliable wooden frames, vinyl windows are cost-effective, durable, energy-efficient, and require very little maintenance if they are constructed properly.
For added performance, Magic uses a performance-modified vinyl window frame design. Our Hybrid Fusion Frame design uses a skeleton of steel and aluminum wrapped in vinyl (U-PVC). In this way, we provide the best of both worlds: the strength and durability of steel and aluminum with the efficiency of high-performing U-PVC.
Our frames adapt to weather fluctuations, keeping the home better insulated year-round. We’ve also improved on traditional frames with our ultra-slim design, which reduces the frame’s size and maximizes the glass surface to create a more contemporary look.
You can have the most stylish windows in the world, but if they aren’t energy-efficient, they aren’t worth it – it’s as simple as that. Let’s cover some key components of an energy-efficient window unit.
Low-E Coated Window Glass
Low-e coating is a transparent, very thin coating added to the glass panes (glazings) of a window unit. It helps to control or regulate the passage of solar radiation through the window’s glass. Importantly, Low-e coatings only reflect solar radiation at certain wavelengths, while still allowing for the uninterrupted flow of natural light into your home.
The biggest benefit of low-e coatings is that they can and should be tailored to deliver the right performance for specific climate regions: In Southern Ontario, where the weather changes drastically from hot to cold over the year, a balanced Low-E formula such as the ClimaGuard 70/36 is best. It’s designed to allow you to take advantage of the sun’s heat in the winter, while not having it be overwhelming in the summer months.
That’s why we formulate our own glass units to meet specific solar and energy-control needs of different regions and climates. It also allows us to maximize your windows’ performance in accordance with your specific preferences, climate, and home’s construction.
Insulated Gas Fills
In the cooler seasons, your windows and doors are tasked with the essential job of keeping cold out and keeping the heat in. The energy efficiency metric associated with this job is U-Factor, which ultimately describes how well your windows can insulate your home and keep heat in. Gas fills can improve this metric:
Noble gases such as krypton, argon, and xenon are used to fill the space between the glass panes in your window units. The addition of heavy gases allows the unit to resist air transfer and retain heat. Most manufacturers will fill just ½ – ¾ of an inch of space with gas. With our innovative approach to glass formulation, we’re able to extend that gap to a full inch. This means we can fill our units with 25% – 50% more gas, and more gas means better insulation.
Warm-Edge Window Spacers
Warm-edge window spacers are another integral part of an insulated glass unit. They act as seals that insulate the edges of the unit and keep the glass panes apart from each other. These spacers are essential to a window’s ability to remain energy efficient over the long term. At Magic, we take this technology further. We use a duralight soft edge spacer made of a 4-layer material that naturally expands and contracts with any movement of the unit. This makes seal failure virtually impossible.

Additional Performance-Enhancing Features
Patented Parallex® Hardware
When it came to designing our casement window, we decided to do away with outdated crank hardware. Our patented parallex® hardware turns outdated casement windows into crankless feats of engineering. Instead of operating the sash with a crank, our revolutionary parallex® hardware allows homeowners to swing the sash outward by sliding it seamlessly along a horizontal axis. They can literally “grab” air from the exterior of the home to help keep the interior cool. Our patented hardware can withstand much more stress and weight than traditional crank windows. As a result, they outperform these outdated designs in every way possible.
Retractable Insect Window Screens
Standard insect screens block light, obstruct views and can become clogged with dirt and allergens over time. Built with our patented Retractable Slide ‘N’ Hide® technology, our fully retractable insect screens address these issues by allowing homeowners to fully control when and where they use their screens.
Built-in Solar Window Screens
These solar screens also utilize Retractable Slide ‘N’ Hide® technology. They allow for complete control over how much light and heat enters through a window. The retractable option lets homeowners let in or block out the sun’s heat whenever they choose to. With this control, users can also reduce the amount of potentially harmful UV rays that can enter the home via windows.
Built-In Thermal Window Blinds
Our fully-retractable thermal blind can double the insulating value of any window. Consequently, it reduces utility bills by preventing comfortable internal air from escaping the home. Furthermore, its ability to retract allows for natural light transmittance that would have been lost with an equivalent triple-glazed window. The blind can also completely block out light, while providing increased privacy and security.
