How did you decide it was time to upgrade to a Magic Window Wall?
As an interior designer, Hollie will be the first to tell you that windows and natural light are an essential part of perfecting your space.
Hollie: “We were looking for some windows that could replace a small window and a small door to enable us to maximize the light and the indoor/outdoor living to our backyard.”
What made you choose Magic? Was it the energy efficiency? The customization?

Hollie: “I think when you’re looking for windows, energy efficiency is the number one factor to think about. The second is the look. You want it to be aesthetically pleasing for the style of your home, both inside and out. The final thing is your budget. Hollie: “The retractable screens were a big thing for us. We have a lot of trees and a cedar hedge around, so we get a lot of mosquitoes. Having retractable screens was really important to us.”

1. “We love that we can retract the screens, use them when we need to, and they can be tucked away when we don’t want to see them. We can open up the whole Wall for our indoor/outdoor living.”

2. “When we initially purchased the house, there was just a small window and a door here, and changing to the Window Wall has allowed so much more light to come into the house. It’s lighter and brighter, and everyone always comments on the doors, especially when they’re open.”

3. “It’s extremely easy to operate the window wall. From the operation of the retractable screens to stacking the panels and stacking them on the side, locking them in place is super simple. My kids can even do it.”
How often do you fully open the window wall and use it? Was it worth getting more panels?
We get this question all the time. If you’re getting a wall of windows, you want to be sure you’re going to make the most of them!
Hollie: “We operate our window wall all the time, especially in the warmer months. We retract our screens when we need to when the bugs come out at night, but otherwise, they’re open all the time.”
Sure, Window Walls are great in Summer, but tell us a bit about the energy efficiency you’ve experienced in these Canadian winters.
Hollie: “In the cooler months, and being in Canada, they’re very energy efficient. We have some chairs that sit in front of the window wall, there are no drafts, and you don’t feel the cold. I’m really happy with the energy-efficient properties of the Magic windows.”
Natural light is more important in winter than at any other time of year. Shorter days mean less sunlight, so having a room that maximizes indoor light can significantly boost energy and mood. Get more light without paying for it in cold drafts or over-the-top energy bills.
